Their work to date has been to protect rare, heritage and naturalised open pollinated food crop sees and fruit trees. Curating the country\\\\\\\'s publlic seed bank of 600 varieties of heritage food seed and the country\\\\\\\'s 180 varieties of heritage apple trees, come along to get a guided tour from the team annd learn how you too can help them in their important work protecting our precious biodiversity for now and future generations. ![]() The Shandrum Céilí Band4th August 2019 7.00 pmThe Shandrum Céilí Band takes their name from the Shandrum parish in North County Cork. The band was in existence from the 1950s through to the 1970s, playing for dances and céilithe in all the major halls across North Cork. The current band, that has links to their predecessors, is in high demand across the country and abroad to provide music for dances, concerts and céilithe, much like the old band had in their heyday. The present day band have a line up of young musicians who have all achieved success on the céilí band circuit, winning medals in all the age groups right through to senior level. The power, drive and lift of the band are a salute to the way the old band played whilst having a distinctive sound of their own. Festival wristband required. | ||||

The band began in March 2007 and they quickly built a reputation for energetic and passionate performances on stage. In 2009, Na Fianna entered the All Ireland Talent Show on Ireland’s national television station, RTE. With an average viewing audience of 1 million people, and four live performances Na Fianna became a household name finishing in second place out of 6,000 competitors. The show catapulted them onto both a national and international platform, further increasing their ambition for continued achievement. Over the past eight years Na Fianna have played in many noted venues all over Ireland, Europe and the United States. Festival wristband required. |
